There are many, many - like way too many social media options out there. If you're like me, it's super easy to get excited about every new and shiny one.
It's fine to start accounts with social media sites - it's fun to check them out and see what they can do for you - but when it comes to displaying the links on your page keep it simple.
I recommend using the top 2-5 that are most in line with your business and not mentioning the others. If you have one video on You Tube, leave it off. If you have a Flickr account you haven't used in a long time, leave it off for now. There's no need to display all your social media accounts. When I see websites like this, the site often looks too cluttered and less professional. Keeping your icons and links simple and relevant to your business is the most important.
